Harvest Completes Installation at Avila Univeristy
Overland Park, KS
Avila University’s School of Nursing was established over 60 years ago by the Sisters of St. Joseph, and to this day, continues to provide an education that “reflects the Sisters’ charism to recognize and care for the dear neighbor and to promote right relationships and social justice.” (www.avila.edu/nursing/mission.asp)
After recognizing a need for a new Nursing Simulation System, Harvest was contacted to bid the job. “Simulation is a technique, not a technology, to replace or amplify real experiences with guided experiences, often immersive in nature, that evoke or replicate substantial aspects of the real world in a fully interactive fashion.” (Gaba, 2004, p. i2) Harvest installed a two-way communication system with selection control that allow the instructor to monitor one of four hospital beds with students and patients so he or she may answer questions and offer applicable instruction in real time. According to Avila’s NERC Coordinator, Kathy McCurry, “Harvest was on our list due to previous experience…by our Director of Facilities, Mike Stuckey. Harvest was chosen due to it being the least complicated [to] set up.”
McCurry also stated that she would highly recommend Harvest’s services due to the price, efficient installation process, professional installation crew, and post-install clean up. She finished her statements by saying, “[Harvest] meets our needs perfectly.”

Harvest Works Towards Completion of Crossing Install
The Crossing, Columbia, MO
The Crossing, a church just 14 years old, began working towards the expansion of their home in late 2013. This expansion contains a new children’s wing, large adult education classroom, foyer, student ministry building, gymnasium, administrative offices, and athletic fields, nearly doubling the size of the original worship space. The new addition will be used as a place to love and serve the community of Columbia.
According to Tim Worstell, the Director of Ministry Solutions and Community Development, “[The Crossing] chooses to embrace technology as a tool for worship.” Harvest, a long-term partner with The Crossing was selected to install all new lighting, sound, and video equipment in many of the classrooms, as well as within the new student ministry building, and gymnasium.
Installation began in summer of 2014 and construction is scheduled to be completed by December 2014.
Dr. Elrod Orthodontics
The waiting experience for the patient and their family lacked any sense of fun. Additionally, parents had trouble recalling details of their child's treatment such as instructions, pictures and x-rays once they left the office.
Harvest designed and installed a system that created a "wow" experience for Dr. Elrod's patients and their families. The waiting room was transformed into a movie viewing room. That movie followed the patient on the screens in the treatment area during the procedure. Post treatment, staff could clearly and completely explain the treatment details with parents on a video monitor complete with photos & x-rays. All that information could then be copied to a DVD for the family to take with them.
